I'm Anita Pavic. I work with public and third sector organisations, from government departments to charities and international development programmes, to understand what's working and what people need. I do it through interviews, focus groups, workshops and surveys, turned into clear reports and briefings.

Interviews, focus groups and workshops, online and in person, with programme teams, partners, funders and participants. I code and analyse the data in MAXQDA, Dedoose and similar tools, then turn it into clear findings. Where it fits, especially with charities, I love using participatory methods so people help shape the research and make sense of the results.

Surveys of people you can already reach, such as programme participants, grantees, partners or staff. I design the questionnaire, set it up on an online survey platform, then analyse and report the results. I also analyse existing survey and programme data.

I worked with Anita over about a year on a range of data collation and analysis tasks. The work required a mix of more interesting advanced data analyst skills (Excel, Python, Power BI) and more routine tracking down and cleaning data from international databases, project monitoring and other sources. Throughout I found Anita proactive, capable and reliable. She was always happy to adapt, take on different or more work, and be flexible in how and when this needed to be done. All in all a great colleague and team member.
I have worked with Anita on several projects including a Wellcome-funded evaluation of the Future of Global Health Initiatives and a Gates-funded landscaping analysis mapping roles and capabilities across the global health market shaping ecosystem. Anita brings considerable experience across coding tools and leveraging AI for evaluation; and her work ethic, responsiveness and analytical rigour mean she is a pleasure to work with.
I have known Anita for years through development projects supporting vulnerable communities, victims of sexual violence and young people at regional and international level. She is highly efficient, with strong skills in programme management, advocacy and communications for development. Intelligent, dependable and dedicated.

Anita Pavic, pronounced PAH-vich
I have over ten years' experience across international development and the public and third sector. That includes running programmes myself, managing employment and housing projects for young homeless people in London and reporting to their funders. So I make sure my evaluations are useful to the people delivering a programme, the people it serves, and the people paying for it.
I work as a freelance evaluator on donor-funded programmes in global health, gender equality, climate and governance.
As Associate Director in the Public team at Savanta, I worked on policy research, stakeholder research, comms testing, participatory research and youth research for government departments, charities and other organisations. Young people are a particular interest of mine. Outside research, I founded a youth policy association in Croatia, served as Under-Secretary-General of the International Youth Federation, and was a youth ambassador for the WAVE Network (Women Against Violence Europe).

I usually work on a day rate, which depends on the complexity of the work and the level of effort involved, and I can offer a reduced rate for larger contracts. I'm also open to other arrangements, such as a fixed fee for a clearly defined piece of work or a set number of days each month for ongoing support. Send me your terms of reference or a short description of the project and I'll suggest what fits.
Yes. I'm based in South-East England and travel for fieldwork both in the UK and internationally, and I also run interviews, focus groups and workshops online.
I follow UK GDPR and recognised research ethics standards on every project: informed consent, anonymisation, and secure storage and deletion of data. With young people and other vulnerable groups, I build in safeguarding, age-appropriate consent and a trauma-informed approach. For children under 16, I follow the Market Research Society (MRS) guidance on getting consent from both parents or guardians and the children themselves. My approach draws on research I've done on young people's experiences of violence and on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse.
Not on my own, as I don't provide survey participants. If you don't already have a way to reach the people you want to survey, we would work with a panel provider who recruits them. I can design the questionnaire, plan the sampling, and do the analysis and report writing.
I work fluently in English and Croatian, speak, read and write French and Spanish to an advanced level, and have intermediate Russian.
Send me a short description and your timings, or the terms of reference if you have them, and I'll get back to you.
